Modes of engagement

We have several modes of engagement with the many people , institutions and groups we work with. We are focussed on making a difference to global health and this crosses many disciplines. Please contact us to discuss your project needs and we can assist you with proposing the appropriate mode of interaction that might work best. We work with individual researchers, large groups from academic and research organisations through to biopharma. Our accreditations allow us to assist with clinical trial needs and we regularly engage with biopharma to assist with the laboratory testing needs for their regulatory body compliance.

Collaboration

Collaborative modes are where we are helping provide scientific direction to the project and adding value to analysis of your data and assisting with publications and supporting funding opportunities. These projects take a little more setting up but can add great value to researchers competitiveness when trying to attract funding.

Semi collaborative

Here we are providing less detailed support on the design and analysis side but the project has value to our laboratory capability wise. Here we offer the best approaches to the laboratory needs and suggest value add things that might contribute to the scientific output. These often develop into more collaborative projects over time.

Fee for service

In some instances the need is very straightforward and we perform a set assay that meets your needs.

Standard workflows

Our workflows generally follow the flow below but we can adapt to any need

Contact —> Discussion of needs —> Project creation —> Official quotes —> Shipment of samples —> Work conducted —> Data released —> Data acknowledgement —> Invoicing —> Project close

For large projects we may seek advance payment for part of the cost of conducting the work. For large projects or as required separate service level agreements or legally binding contacts may be arranged. Projects may remain open post invoicing if further samples are to be processed.

Publication and Acknowledgement

The different modes of operation generally dictate the expectations by us and you as to how to publish work that is performed with us. We would be grateful for all work performed through our laboratories that is published acknowledge the institute as described below. For Collaborative work consideration must be given to co-authorship and can be determined up front or considered as the significance of the data generated is realised.

Acknowledging the institute

Acknowledgments should read. “The laboratory work for [Insert body of work conducted] was performed at Murdoch University, Perth, Western Australia in the Health Futures Institute Immunogenomics Immunology and Infectious Diseases (IIID) Laboratories”.
